Today I did a tour to the colca valley. We left at 3 in the morning by bus and it was sooo cold in the bus when we got up to the mountains! But the view when the sun came up was amazing. All around volcanos and cactus and Indios who tried to sell the colorful souveniers. The weather was not too good, a bit cloudy but fortunately it was warmer later that day. I was the only foreigner in the bus and so I could practice my spanish during the long ride. In fact we where most of the time in the bus, just stopped from time to time for fotos.
There was one mountain where many condors lived; now I know where the famous song: "el condor pasa" came from.

Ich bin in Arequipa im Sueden von Peru auf dem Weg zum Titicaca See und Bolivien.
Heute hab ich eine Tour ins Colca Tal gemacht. Wir starteten um 3 Uhr morgens mit dem Bus und es war so kalt im Bus als wir in die Berge kamen! Aber die Aussicht bei Sonnenaufgang war toll. Ringsherum Vulcane und Kakteen und Indios, die bunte Souveniers verkauften. Das Wetter war nicht so gut, etwas truebe aber zum Glueck wurde es tagsueber waermer.
Ich war der einzige Auslaender im Bus und so konnte ich mein Spanisch ausprobieren waehrend der langen Fahrt. Eigentlich waren wir die meiste Zeit im Bus und hielten nur zeitweise an, um Fotos zu machen.
Es gab einen Berg, wo es viele Condor gab; jetzt weiss ich, woher das beruehmte Lied: "El condor pasa" (der Condor zieht vorbei) kommt.

The lamas are so cute! Or is it an alpaca? Still dont know the difference but they taste both good-----------------------
Die Lamas sind so sues! Oder ist das ein Alpaka? Ich weiss immer noch nicht, was was ist aber sie schmecken beide gut
