Bogota to Cartagena

I m at the airport waiting for my flight to Cartagena.
Couldn't see all what I wanted to see in Bogota but I will come back anyway before I fly home so I will have more time here later.
Some of my friends told me: isn't it dangerous in Bogota?
It is not when you follow some rules I guess. I had really good experience with the people here. Twice the Shop assistant told me that I paid too much when I mixed up the money. It's complicated with the many 0000 on the notes.
The taxi driver waited until the hostel opened the door for me when I came home late and people on the street reminded me to take care of my camera.
But some people also warned me during the day not to use some small streets. I guess some people are overprotective with tourists.
It was strange for me to use a taxi after dark even for a 15 min walk and I think the right balance when you have to be careful and where you are safe you find only after one or two weeks.
Anyway, I didn't feel that it was more dangerous than in European cities and the people in Bogota are very friendly and helpful and like to talk with strangers so my Spanish is getting better.
Now I plan to stay some time in Cartagena at the beach and relaxe. First I have to get used to that long holiday and a big city is not the best place to relax.
