Last Thursday I explored with Sean from Australia the Bogota nightlife. First we went to a bar close to our hostel in the Candelaria area.
The band played a mix of latin music and rock and people used the small place between the tables for dancing. Only the decoration of the bar was strange: it was decorated in egyptian style.Later we went in park 93 and Zona Rosa from bar to bar. We found some places with live music and everywhere people where dancing.
At 3 am the bars closed and some guy brought us to a "very nice bar with good music which is open until the morning". What we found was a kind of strip bar with lots of working girls sitting around and very expensive drinks... no, thanks.
We ask a taxi driver if he knows a place which is still open and he brought us to a bar in the middle of nowhere and made sure they let us in. The place was full of people drinking, smoking, dancing and it was all salsa music.
The only problem was: we had to buy a bottle of schnapps and though it was not very expensive, our money was almost finished. But eventually and after checking all our pockets we just found enough for the cheapest bottle. We had so much fun with the people in the bar and where dancing until 6 am.
Friday and Saturday all bars closed because of election. It was not possible to go out or even buy alcohol but we had both days party with BBQ in the hostel.
Meanwhile I m in Cali. At the moment there not many people in the hostel and its Monday, so not many people go out. Actually I want to dance because Cali is the city of Salsa but have no idea what to do until Thursday. Have to think about if I stay until the weekend or if I go to Quito...
